About us

Sinthome – Lacanian Psychoanalytic Association (SLPA) was founded in March 2008. Our Group has brought together psychoanalysts and specialists from other fields fascinated by the the work of Jacques Lacan, a French psychoanalyst and philosopher. Until 2010 Sinthome has closely cooperated with the French EPFCL. The same year we decided to work independently.

Currently, we cooperate with psychoanalysts - members of other groups, as well as the non-attached psychoanalysts.

We had the honour of hosting such eminent guests as: Élisabeth Roudinesco, Renata Salecl, Bruce Fink, Stuart Schneiderman, Marco Jorge, Alain Didier-Weill and Paola Mieli from Après-Coup Psychoanalytic Association of New York and Raul Moncayo from The Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis in Berkley California.

Our mission is the study and transmission of lacanian psychoanalysis in Poland, based on the work and ideas of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. Having that as our main goal, among other activities such as clinical work, Sinthome established The School for the (self) Formation of the Psychoanalyst.

As a non-profit organization we would like to cooperate with all who are interested in contemporary issues in psychoanalysis and modern civilisation.
